A Ghostly Adventure

30 Dec

We have been spoiled around the Khoshboei/Solano residence since my sister and Nat came down to visit.  Mama Khosh has been coming over during their stay to cook us fresh meals that only a true mama could make.  Hopefully this spoiling does not stop once they leave, but I have a feeling it may unless I hold my mom captive.

Her creation for lunch was beyond delish.  Homemade chili, salad, and baked potatoes.  Hells yeah!

I totally ninja style stole the only sweet potato.  My beautiful plate was filled with such hearty yumminess.  I don’t like cooking so I definitely appreciated a home cooked meal since they come far and few between around here.  I’m more of a baker for sure.

A beautiful lunch would not be made complete if there was not a precious pupper begging for scraps.

After lunch we all pretty much lounged around being our normal “we’re on vacation” lazy selves.  My sister, mom, and I watched the rest of a Madea movie we didn’t finish on Christmas.  One word: Hil-freakin-arious!  I pretty much talk like Madea on a regular basis.  Heller!  Every time I wake up, the first thing I say to little Sophia is “good morting!”.  If you know who Madea is and watch the movies then you know what I’m talking about.

After much needed lazy time, we left the house to get drinks at a great restaurant that is pretty new to San Antonio.  The Esquire is  pretty high on my favorite places in San Antonio to get a quick bite and have uniquely made drinks.  I’ve only been there twice, but I plan on making it a staple when we’re bored and want to go out.

We snacked on a few things that were to die for.  The mac-and-cheese was so good I wanted to make out with a goat afterwards.  Don’t ask, but that’s how it made me feel.

Cheers to another great night out with the gang!

I am absolutely in love with the decor and feel of The Esquire.  The lighting and the way the place is set up makes it seem so cozy.  Definitely a must go-to spot if you’re ever in downtown San Antonio.

After we all had some grub and much needed cocktails in our system we headed out to a ghost tour we signed up for.

And yes, I just said “ghost tour”.  It’s actually called the Sisters Grimm tour.  We all met up at The Alamo first.

Before we all left on the walking tour we had to sign our lives away.  I guess they didn’t want to be held responsible if we were taken over by demonic possessions.  I’m not quite sure.  We happily followed the rules and signed our names.

Our tour guides were sisters dressed in old fashion clothes.  I thought they looked cute and gave the tour a vintage style flare.  Wow, that was such a girly reaction to their attire.  Ok, moving on now.

The tour guides took us to historical locations downtown that have been known for paranormal activity.  I wanted to see a ghost sighting so bad, but sadly ghosts do not like to show themselves to me.  It was nice to walk around downtown and learn new things about the city anyways.

Here’s a few picks of our ghostly adventure:

Overall, we all had a great time.  It did give my sister and I inspiration to start our own ghost tour one day.  We want to start a Lady Gaga themed ghost tour that incorporates ghost stories, booze, fitness, and music in one shebang.  We plan on dressing up like Lady Gaga while singing her songs, while lunging from one ghost spot to another, while taking stops for boozing it up, while telling ghost stories.  Tell me that doesn’t sound awesome!  We’re planning on making this happen in the next year so keep an eye out for that.

After our ghost tour we were all ready to snack it up at Mi Tierra.  It’s a restaurant downtown that never closes.  NEVER CLOSES EVER!!!  I’m talking 24/7 365 days out of the year.  If you ever visit San Antonio then you have to put Mi Tierra on your to-do list.

The ceilings in the restaurant are completely decked out with shiny things galore.

We got seated at the best table in the house.  The Selena table!

After our late dinner we couldn’t leave without getting some sweet snack.  So many options.

It was another great night out with the gang.  We have three more days to hang out with sister and Nat until  they fly back to Chicago so hopefully we’ll find some more things to do around town.  I’m sure that won’t be a problem.
